Where was I was closest to Spiritual Love? There are 2 places in the world where I have got the closest to the bliss of Spiritual Love and the most memorable. There have been incredible glimpses in all sorts of places, but these 2 stand out.
My first encounter started in India when I went round the world for 9 months completely detached from my normal English life. The spiritual energy and the culture shock of India on my young naive mind really gave me an incredible push and after that trekking in Nepal gave a brief glimpse of bliss and detachment, at the end of the trek, which I completed with my wife despite both of us being quite ill. From their we journeyed onto Thailand and it was here I really felt at home. I was waking at 5am doing Yoga and then Tai Chi. The moving between countries and the different cultures was helping detach me from my past, clearing old patterns and opening my mind to other possibilities. On the island of Koh Phangan we were in a a bamboo and palm leaf thatched hut on a remote headland on Bottle Beach, only reachable by boat. Before sunrise I would do Yoga and Thai Chi and then swim or walk to the restaurant for breakfast. It was a Robinson Crusoe type experience in my boy like mind. I felt so at home there despite the heat and then one day walking down the bamboo walkway to the restaurant I felt elevated as if lifted by my crown and total bliss for just a moment maybe a few seconds. But I never forgot it.
I meditated and tried many times to find that level of bliss again but seemed to reach only the same place. It was very peaceful, very calming, beautiful but not the same level of bliss and no matter what I tried I could not progress beyond it.
The next time I experienced this special form of bliss, experiencing it in many ways and learned about Spiritual Love both on the inside and outside was when I first visited Meherabad and Meher Baba’s Tomb Shrine. India was a special place to me and the spiritual energy was wonderful, but this place was on another level entirely so full of inner love. The tomb itself was incredible and allowed a much deeper spiritual connection and clearing of old patterns.
This peace, bliss and love I also get from some of the books about Meher Baba and so I wanted to share the books which I find so special. It’s not so much the words, the stories or about Meher Baba himself but its the gaps in between the words, the feelings. Just read the books and let the feelings emerge from the pages, it’s a wonderful experience.

The Biographies of Meher Baba which is many volumes and documents Meher Baba’s life which is quite incredible in itself. I have met the disciple Bhau who wrote this and he lived closely with Meher Baba. While I did not find myself attracted to him, the writings themselves have such a wonderful feeling behind the worlds I have read all of the volumes 2 or 3 times.
Eruch was a man I saw many times but foolishly only met once when he grabbed me and gave me a wonderful hug. Its was quite incredible and stars appeared to float around my head and eyes in a most blissful manner. After realising what a special guy he was, I missed my chance as I he died shortly after leaving me wishing I had spent more time with him. He was dedicated to and spoke for Meher Baba who was silent and only communicated in sign language. One of his books about him living with Meher baba is That’s How it Was
Intimate Times Guruprasad by Bal Natu is one of my favourites to read. Bal was a wonderful man who wrote about his times with Meher Baba at Guruprasad in India. I met him many times and he was so genuine, thoughtful and helpful. He wrote a few books about Meher Baba but this one I felt had so many moments and lessons in Spiritual Love for me that it is one of my favourites. The feelings emitted from reading this book I find really beautiful.
Blue Bus Tours are a wonderful book & The New Life both have beautiful moments in and feel wonderful to read.
My friend likes to read God Speaks written by Meher Baba and he advised everyone to read it at least once, but I really did not get on with this book and struggled to read it finding it a bit dry but Baba intimated something was hidden in the words.

This is a small booklet about Hazrat Babajan a female perfect master in India who worked with Meher Baba.
